Actress Lucinda Ruh confirmed for Ribbon Cutting!

World renowned Actress and Skater Lucinda Ruh (http://www.lucindaruh.com/) is CONFIRMED for the Ribbon Cutting of the Hope Bus NYC on September 21st!

Lucinda Ruh is one of the most admired and creative skaters in the world. Her record is impressive: two-time National Champion, two-time World Bronze Medalist, and Guinness Book of Records Holder for the longest spin on ice. Always a trendsetter and pushing the limits, from making the unitard a fashion statement to spinning forever in the most unique positions, Lucinda always told a story the minute she stepped on the ice. Dubbed the Queen of Spin, Lucinda made her mark on skating design by creating over 20 different spin positions over the course of her career putting her name in history forever. It's no wonder that she was twice named the Most Influential Skater in the World by International Figure Skating Magazine. Lucinda Ruh has competed at 8 World Championships and has performed with the most prestigious tours such as Stars On Ice, Champions On Ice, and Art on Ice. Her majestic style has given her opportunities to skate live around the globe while being accompanied by incredible artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Aretha Franklin, and Seal, to name a few. Her spin legacy continues for the younger generation as she gives skating seminars to help the new wave of skating champions. Lucinda was invited to the White House for a private tour with the president's speech writers and that is an experience she holds dear to her heart. Even with all of this already accomplished, Lucinda's journey has just begun.

Those who loved Lucinda's artistry on the ice will be pleased to learn that she continues to channel her energy into new projects. While she traveled the world, she watched, learned and absorbed the cultures around her. She picked up five languages along the way: English, Japanese, Chinese, German, and French. Her poise in front of the camera is evident in her many film and television roles. Please see the acting page for updates and up and coming TV and film roles. Then, her passion for fashion and style and colour has always been very evident as she has designed all her skating outfits from the age of eight earning her the best dressed on ice title and has since always styled her and her family and friends for all kinds of events and functions and therefore is hoping to create her own fashion line as she hopes to work with the top designers around the world. She has also skated in arenas large and small on every continent, always taking notes on how the design could be better for both skaters and those who watched them. All of these influences have now converged with Lucinda Design--a design firm that helps cities, corporations, and families create the most beautiful and functional skating arenas around the world. Please see the Design page and contact us if you would like Lucinda's help designing or renovating your ice arena.

What's next for Lucinda? Lucinda's main mission is to be a global ambassador and to fight for what she believes in and making a difference in children's lives with her story and being an inspiration to them. Then a flourishing acting career on the rise in a TV show that is in production now, movie opportunities in the works, a fashion line and few other of her own projects up her sleeve, as she also looks forward to designing rinks around the world--in most places she won't need a translator! She will also continue her good efforts with charities such as Saint Jude's and the Special Olympics where she was invited by the American Federation to present medals to the athletes. Lucinda also looks forward to nurturing the younger generation, giving life to each skater's unique abilities.

Lucinda lives for that one moment when she can make someone understand and take pride in the gem that they are through her dedication, art and work.
Lucinda is also writing a lot and hopes to publish her work soon. Watch for Lucinda on your TV, in movie theatres, and Lucinda looks forward to seeing you in your hometown soon!
